OSTRANDER, Ohio — A 2-year-old girl was hospitalized Tuesday after she was pulled from a pond behind a home.

Kaylin Sayer was found unconscious by her father around 3 p.m. in a neighbor's pond on Long Road near Ostrander in Union County.

Sheriff's deputies told 10TV News that the father began searching for Kaylin after she failed to return home after playing outside with her older brothers.

"She was found in the pond and CPR was in progress when we arrived," said Sgt. Christopher Skinner with the Union County Sheriff's Department. "We assisted with the CPR, assisted with the medics and put her on a helicopter so she could get advanced medical treatment."

Kaylin was airlifted to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, which did not release her condition late Tuesday night.
