Teen Driver, Officers Hurt In Crash

PLAIN CITY, Ohio — Two police officers were injured after a car driven by a 17-year-old crashed into their cruiser on Monday morning.

The crash occurred along U.S. Route 42 at about 7:30 a.m., shortly before the town's Memorial Day parade was to begin, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.

The 17-year-old, whose name and condition were not immediately released, was airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Pete Brokus, a Plain City resident, was scheduled to meet with the two officers for coffee when he saw the teen's car speed through a red light and crashed into the rear of the cruiser.

The teen's car then crashed into a building, Ramos reported.

The officers, whose names were not released, were treated and released from the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
