COLUMBUS, Ohio — Appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corporation is planning to lay off nearly 1,000 workers in Ohio, 10TV News reported Tuesday.

Whirlpool cut about 5,000 jobs last month and will lay off 945 additional workers at three plants in Ohio effective Nov. 23.

About 570 jobs will be cut from the company's factory in Marion, while about 250 positions will be cut from the Whirlpool plant in Clyde.

More than 100 other positions will be trimmed from the company's operations in Findlay.

Whirlpool said the cuts in Ohio would be temporary.
