Rahab's Hideaway provides a safe place to sleep, as well as education and counseling for the girls, 10TV's Brittany Westbrook reported.
Marlene Carson is the founder of the shelter, which is named for a prostitute mentioned in the Bible.
"International trafficking -- that's what we have become accustomed to, even when you hear human trafficking, that's what we think about," Carson said. "However...it's right here in your back yard."
Carson said that she was herself a survivor of human trafficking.
"I got involved because I was a victim," Carson said.
One of those being helped by Rahab's Hideaway is Daleana Tiggs, 18.
Tiggs' mother died when Tiggs was 2, and when Tiggs was 9, her father went to prison. Rebellious and raised in foster homes, Tiggs fled to the streets, where she began working as a prostitute at age 15.
"I was hungry, thirsty," Tiggs said. "I needed clothes. I was looking for love in all the wrong places."
Tiggs said she is looking forward to a better life now that she has found Rahab's Hideaway.
