COLUMBUS, Ohio — With summer drawing to an end, the city of Columbus will close the curfew center at the downtown YMCA.

A spokesman for Mayor Michael Coleman said there were not enough resources to keep the center open during the school year, 10TV News reported.

About $75,000 was spent to keep four employees at the center, Thursdays through Saturdays.

During the summer, 26 curfew violators were taken to the center, 10TV News reported.

The center was created in May after the city approved Coleman's citywide curfew initiative.
