COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former teacher who was sent to prison for attempting to meet a teenage boy for sex learned Monday that he will not be released from prison early.

Mark Boster was sentenced in April to a year in prison. Boster, 46, pleaded guilty to arranging a date over the Internet with a 14-year-old boy, 10TV News reported.

The boy was actually an undercover police officer posing as a teenager.

A judge denied Boster's request since he has served only four months of his sentence, 10TV News reported.

In addition to serving the rest of his prison sentence, Boster has also had his teaching license revoked.

He was formerly a teacher with Columbus City Schools.
