The magazine ranked more than 150 science centers in the United States based on a survey given to thousands of parents.

COSI came out on top with the best exhibits, demonstrations and classes for children and the community.

"What Parents Magazine saw was that in addition to the great spaces that we have like our little kid space but all the programming (and) the attention to guest service," said David Chesebrough, COSI president and CEO. "I think it's the package they looked at and the breadth and depth of what we do."

COSI beat out science centers located in other cities including Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco.
