Woman Accused Of Throwing Away Fetus To Face Charges

ATHENS, Ohio — A woman accused of disposing her fetus after a miscarriage was indicted Monday on a charge
of tampering with evidence.
Jewell Leon, of Glouster, is accused of wrapping her fetus in a towel and throwing it in the trash, 10TV News reported.
Leon, 25, told investigators she threw the fetus away because she feared that the miscarriage happened because of her heroin abuse, according to a press release issued by the Athens County Prosecutor’s office.
Authorities said the fetus was thrown away sometime in April.
If convicted, Leon could be sentenced up to five years in prison.
