Rebecca Carpenter and Charles Pyles were arrested earlier this month after Carpenter’s daughter, Angel, was admitted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus with broken bones and other injuries, 10TV News reported.

Angel Carpenter remains in critical condition.

According to police, Carpenter and Pyles waited nearly 48 hours before seeking medical attention for the child.

During arraignments on July 2, Carpenter and Pyles pleaded not guilty to abuse charges, 10TV News reported.

10TV learned that Carpenter previously lost custody of her oldest child in 2002 after pleading no contest to felony child endangering.
