The fire inside a vacant duplex on Burt Street started shortly after 1:30 a.m., 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.
Two firefighters were trapped inside the home when the chimney started to collapse, Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Doug Smith said.
The firefighters, whose names were not immediately released, were taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center with burns.
One firefighter was treated and released. The other firefighter was expected to be released later on Thursday, Ramos reported.
It took firefighters more than five hours to extinguish the blaze.
Arson investigators were called to the scene. It was not immediately known what sparked the fire.
