Witnesses reported seeing a white or tan Chevy Caprice with three men inside. Police were searching for that vehicle.

Frank Boston, who lives near area where Goins was shot, said crime is rampant there, Bell reported.

Boston, 80, said he is used to hearing gunshots and seeing violent crime.

"I heard a couple of shots and then another one," Boston said. "I see a few of them in the neighbhorhood, others I don't know where they live at."

Goins recently graduated from Whetstone High School and was part of the district's accelerated learning program.
