Union County has expanded hours for the Nov. 12 H1N1 clinic and announced an additional clinic, set for Nov. 24.

The Nov. 12 clinic will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the old Marysville Middle School, 833 N. Maple St.

Both clinics will serve high risk groups only, including pregnant women, healthcare workers, caregivers such as daycare providers, children age 6 months to 24 years old and adults age 25 through 64 with chronic medical conditions including diabetes, asthma, blood disorders, cancer and other ailments.

These clinics will use a numbered ticket system and parents are encouraged to send only one family member to the clinic to get tickets for each eligible family member.

The Richland County and Shelby City health departments will hold two clinics this week, both at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

The first clinic will be Monday, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The second will be from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Both clinics will be for high risk groups, including children and pregnant women.

Meanwhile, the Ohio Department of Health on Friday ordered more than 430,000 more doses of the H1N1 vaccine, in anticipation of supplying clinics around the state.

Once received, the doses will be shipped directly to 315 local health departments and hospitals in all of Ohio's 88 counties, ODH said.

The vaccine orders should begin arriving at local health departments and hospitals Nov. 10, according to CDC.

Individuals can pre-register all members of their family for H1N1 vaccine at the ODH Web site,  and bring completed paperwork to the clinic to speed up the vaccination process.

For more information on vaccine availability, check the ODH Web site or call the ODH H1N1 information line at 1-866-800-1404 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
