H1N1 Vaccine Distribution Should Be Speeding Up

COLUMBUS, Ohio — U.S. Health officials on Thursday said the H1N1 vacinne should be reaching clinics and healthcare providers quicker.

The heads of the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health testified before Congress and said while there have been some difficulties getting the vaccine out, manufacturers are now making the vaccine faster.

The Franklin County Health Department hosted an H1N1 clinic for children on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Westland Community Center in Galloway, near Westland High School.

It is for children ages 6 months to 4 years old and those between 5 and 18 with underlying medical conditions.

The Knox County Health Department will hold a clinic on Saturday for children ages 6 months to 24 years.

The clinic will run  from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the health department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon.
