COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pediatricians are running out of the flu shot and are sending their patients on to critical care clinics and pharmacies.

Now, those pharmacies are running low on shots, 10TV's Karina Nova reported.

Martha Beachy makes sure she gets her flu shot every year.  This year, she is not taking any chances.

"This year, I think, is almost more important than any other year because all of the flus that are going around," Beachy said.

While Beachy always sees her doctor for the shot, she had to visit a Walgreen's because her physician ran out.

"This is the first time that I know of that they didn't have it," Beachy said.

Bonnie Varner and her husband drove 25 miles into Dublin just to get their vaccination.

"They were out of them locally where we're from, Marion, and a little closer would be Delaware so we came here," Varner said.

One pharmacy reported having a stock of about 250 flu shots on Friday but was down to 20 on Monday afternoon.

Many pharmacies said that they had no plans to restock the shot.
