He'd even bought a carrying case specifically for his impending purchase. Needless to say, he is eagerly awaiting the official iPad launch on April 3rd.
And he's not the only one.
iPad enthusiasts were able to begin pre-ordering the device this past Friday. According to analysis by Investor Village, Apple sold nearly 120-thousand iPads on Friday... coming out to about $75-million in sales.
All in a day's work, eh Steve Jobs?
A revised estimate shows there were 152,000 pre-orders through the weekend.
The iPad is even showing up all over eBay, including one user who listed it for the "Buy It Now" price of... $21 million. Oh yeah, and $14.42 for shipping.
And a company called Mervis Diamond Importers (http://www.mervisdiamond.com/tacori-diamonds) is selling a diamond crusted iPad for the low, low price of $19,999.
What a bargain!
I'll go out on a limb here and assume that most people will put their $21 million, or even $20 thousand, to better use and just go with the iPad for its original price, which begins at about $499.
As for me? I'm sitting out the iPad craze this time around. We'll see what the 2nd generation has to offer.
