Skybus Changes Trip Insurance To Cover Cancellations
Thursday, March 6, 2008 5:35 AM
Last December, the Columbus-based low-cost airline was criticized after cancelled flights left hundreds of passengers stranded and angry.
Under the new trip insurance, if a Skybus flight is cancelled or delayed for more than three hours, passengers can either rebook or get a refund.
Customers will also be eligible for a $250 reimbursement for travel expenses.
The coverage will cost five percent of the ticket price or at least $9. The fee covers each ticket on a single reservation.
The airline also announced Wednesday that it is moving its self-service kiosks at Port Columbus farther from the ticket counter to reduce crowding in advance of the spring break travel rush.
Skybus investors include Nationwide Mutual Capital, Huntington Capital Investment Co., Battelle Services Co. and Wolfe Enterprises Inc., a subsidiary of The Dispatch Printing Company, which owns WBNS-TV and The Ohio News Network.
