Patrick Bell

Award-winning reporter Patrick Bell joined 10TV in 2002 and is renowned for live breaking news reporting, producing exclusive stories, and covering some of the nation's biggest news events.

Patrick has delivered many memorable stories for WBNS-10TV.  He was the only local reporter in New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  He traveled to Fort Benning, Ga., to document Ohio soldiers training for battle. 

Patrick covered the highway shooter investigation, the capture of fugitive John Parsons, the Federal prosecution of a suspected local Al-Qaeda terrorist cell, and reported live from Arizona following Ohio State University's BCS National Championship victory.

Prior to his tenure at 10TV, Patrick spent three years anchoring weekend newscasts at WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa.  While there, he covered the Iowa Caucuses and conducted interviews with Presidents George H. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.  Patrick also sat down with Vice President Al Gore, Arizona Sen. John McCain, Kansas Sen. Bob Dole, and virtually all other major presidential candidates.

Patrick began his career at WLFI-TV in West Lafayette, Ind.  Just weeks into his internship, he was promoted to main news anchor.

Bell has also produced live reports and stories for several networks including CNN, NBC News, CBS News, CBS Radio, The Weather Channel and Japan's NHK.

Patrick has earned honors from the Associated Press, National Academy of Arts and Sciences (Emmy), Society of Professional Journalists, the Ohio National Guard and Iowa Broadcast News Association.

Bell graduated from Ball State University with a B.A. in Telecommunications.   He lives in Franklin County with his wife and young son.
