Chuck Strickler

10TV News Anchor

Chuck Strickler is an award-winning member of the 10TV News HD team, currently serving as weekday morning and noon co-anchor, with Heather Pick.

In 2006, Strickler received two regional Emmy Awards for stories he wrote and produced for "Consumer 10," a franchise in which he served as the lead reporter since 2005.  Chuck now heads up a new segment called "10TV Spotlight," which focuses on interesting people, places and events around the state of Ohio.

In 1998 and 2005, Chuck received the "Best Reporter" award in Ohio from the Associated Press.  He was also honored with the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists' "Best Reporter" award for a large market television station in 1999, 2000 and 2003.  He has received many other awards for news and feature reporting during his broadcast journalism career.

Strickler has covered many big stories during his 12 years at 10TV, including the Oklahoma City bombing, the crash of the ValuJet Flight 592 in Florida, the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, and two of Pope John II's visits to the U.S.

Chuck brings the cultural awareness and experience of a world traveler and educator to the 10TV News HD team.  He is fluent in Spanish.  His love of language led him to Seville, Spain, where he studied and lived for six months during college.  His travels have also taken Chuck to South America, where he lived and taught English at two private institutes in Lima, Peru.

Strickler was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  He began his journalism career as a reporter at Penn State University's Daily Collegian newspaper.  After graduation, he got his start in television news at WVVA-TV 6 in Bluefield, W.Va.  He has also worked at WOWK-TV in Charleston, W.Va., and KIII-TV3 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Outside of work, Chuck is busy.  He and his lovely wife, Jojo, are the proud parents of two energetic boys, Nikolas and Kristofer.  When they're not home having fun with their boys, you'll probably find them at "Dr. Jojo's" dental practice in Hilliard where she is a pediatric dentist.

Besides loving to travel and speaking Spanish, Strickler is a big sports fan and loves to coach his boys' teams.  He also likes to cook, eat and sing all types of music, especially barbershop harmony.  Since arriving in Columbus, he has been a member of the Singing Buckeye Chorus.  For the past several years, Chuck has sung in the annual "Merry Go Round" fundraiser for the Columbus Childhood league, a volunteer group that supports a daycare center for mentally and physically challenged children.
