Police: Man back in jail after officer's car taken

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a man released from jail was back behind bars a few hours later after he took the car of a corrections officer and dragged two officers for a few feet.

Tacoma police told The News Tribune (http://is.gd/LmVtOx ) the suspect was stopped a few hours later on Thursday after trying to take another car by running it off Interstate 5.

The name of the suspect was not immediately available.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the first car was taken as the officer was letting it warm up at the Pierce County Jail and at least two officers tried to stop him.
