CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say a 9-year-old boy was arrested after he was spotted outside a southwest Ohio elementary school with an airsoft pellet gun.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1qftuZd ) reports that Oakdale Elementary School in suburban Cincinnati was locked down Wednesday after a few students said they saw the boy in the woods behind the school during recess.
Nobody was hurt, and the child was arrested at his house without incident. The school said the child attended the school but would not be coming back.
Principal Geoffrey Harold wrote on the school's Facebook page Wednesday that officials are "in the process of going through steps to determine his next placement."
Airsoft guns are replica weapons, often used in recreational war games. They fire round projectiles.
