3 in their 80s die in murder-suicide in New Jersey

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say three people in their 80s are dead in New Jersey in after a man shot his wife, brother-in-law and himself.

It's not clear what led to the shootings early Tuesday at two homes on a street in Hasbrouck (HAZ'-brook) Heights in suburban New York City.

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli says Angelo Talignani (tah-leen-YAH'-nee) went to Anthony Gentile's (jehn-TEE'-lee) home around 7:30 a.m., took two guns legally owned by Gentile and shot him in his bedroom.

Authorities say Talignani then went back home and shot his wife, Antoinette, as she lay in bed. Talignani then killed himself.

A home health aide for the Talignanis heard the shots and called police from a neighbor's home.

Molinelli says police found Gentile's body when they went to question him about the guns found at the Talignanis' home.
