BROOKFIELD, Vt. (AP) — State police say a 64-year-old man was killed when the truck he was driving rolled over on Interstate 89 in Brookfield.
Peter Smithers of Randolph suffered a fatal head injury in the accident just before 3 p.m. on Monday. State police say Smithers was traveling southbound on I-89 in a truck that was pulling a camper behind it. They say the camper began fishtailing, causing Smithers to lose control of the truck, which rolled over several times.
Smithers was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the accident. An investigation is continuing.
