SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — An expansion by Dole Food Company is expected to mean nearly 140 new jobs in western Ohio.
State and regional development officials on Monday announced the $9 million project. Dole says plant capacity is being increased in Springfield to add production of its baby spinach and spring mix packaged vegetables. It's estimated the jobs will mean $3.2 million in additional payroll.
The Dole expansion was among nine projects around the state that the Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik) administration says will create 586 jobs. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved assistance for the development projects at its monthly meeting.
