Humbled by 2012, Texas' Perry courts New Hampshire

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry says in a visit to a key early voting state that he was humbled by his first run for president in 2012.

Perry addressed a group of business leaders in New Hampshire Friday and told them he had not decided yet whether to run again in 2016.

His 2012 campaign ended badly when he made several missteps, including a highly-publicized gaffe when he froze up during a televised debate.

Perry didn't shy away from last week's indictment on charges he abused his power when he followed through on a threat to veto funding for a public integrity unit run by a prosecutor who had been pulled over for drunk driving.

Perry repeated his claim that the indictment is politically motivated.

He's in New Hampshire through Saturday.
