WEST ALEXANDRIA, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio man who family members say rescued his girlfriend's three children from a burning home is recovering from his injuries at a hospital.
Family members say Brandon "Bo" Barton ran through flames to get a 1 ½-year-old baby out of his crib, and grabbed a 5-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl to get them out of the burning home in the Preble County village of West Alexandria early Friday.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1p5oDZQ ) reports that Barton was overcome by smoke. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but is continuing to show improvement.
The family lost everything in the fire, which authorities believe was started when a burning candle tipped over.
The children were not hurt.
