2nd teen dies after crash in northern Ohio

ASHLAND, Ohio (AP) — A second teen has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash last week in northern Ohio.

The Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH'-guh) County coroner's office said 18-year-old Cheyenne Spidel of Perrysville died on Sunday, three days after the crash in Mohican Township near Ashland. She died at a Cleveland hospital.

The driver of the car in which she was riding, 18-year-old Brooke Lewis, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Thursday night crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Lewis failed to stop at a stop sign, and her 1999 Saturn was hit by a tractor-trailer. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.

Both women graduated from high school in May.
