Woman, teen drown at Cleveland beach

CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say a 34-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy drowned in Lake Erie at a Cleveland public beach.

City police said fellow beach-goers pulled the woman from the water on Sunday afternoon at Euclid Beach. After learning that another person was still in the water, a dive team went in and located the boy.

Both victims were pronounced dead at hospitals.

They were identified as 34-year-old Kelly Walker of Cleveland, and 15-year-old Bryce Canady of Cleveland Heights.

Police believe one of the victims was possibly trying to assist the other when they both became distressed.
