ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire's Asthma Control Program will be receiving $500,000 to support asthma services in the state.
The state has about 130,000 residents with asthma.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says asthma affects over 25 million Americans, with increased occurrence among children, women, minorities, and urban demographics.
New Hampshire Rep. Carol Shea-Porter announced the grant. She's founder and co-chair of the Congressional Asthma and Allergy Caucus.
