Pawtucket Mayor Grebien hospitalized in Boston

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien (GREH'-bee-in) has been hospitalized in Boston for several days because of what his office says are flu-like symptoms.

The Pawtucket Times reports that the 46-year-old mayor was admitted to Brigham and Women's Hospital for tests last week. Public Safety Director Tony Pires tells the newspaper that Grebien had been ill for a couple of weeks with dizziness, lightheadedness and flu-like symptoms without nausea. Pires says his condition does not appear to be life-threatening.

He said Grebien is still engaged and fulfilling his duties as mayor from the hospital.

Grebien was first elected in 2010 and is seeking a third term.
