GOLETA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a Southern California man admits he stabbed his parents and two young children to death in their Goleta home.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown says Nicolas Holzer told police he believed it was his destiny to carry out the killings.
Holzer was arrested Tuesday and is being held without bail.
Authorities found the bodies of Holzer's mother and father, and his sons, ages 13 and 10, late Monday at the family's home.
The four people and the family dog had been stabbed to death.
Authorities say Holzer summoned authorities to the home near the University of California, Santa Barbara, after the killings.
They say the 45-year-old told a dispatcher in a calm, matter-of-fact voice that he had killed the family.
