DOVER, Del. (AP) — Federal officials are sending out letters to some 700 Delawareans warning them that their insurance coverage under the federal health care reform law could be in jeopardy.
Officials say the federal health insurance marketplace began sending notices this week to more than 300,000 people around the country with inconsistencies in their citizenship or immigration data. Many of those receiving notices have not responded to previous outreach efforts.
Recipients of the notices must submit documentation supporting their eligibility by Sept. 5, or their insurance coverage under the health care marketplace will end Sept. 30.
People in the country illegally are not allowed to get coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
