Spanish jet returns with priest with Ebola virus

MADRID (AP) — Spain's Defense Ministry says a Spanish missionary priest who has tested positive for the Ebola virus has landed in Spain on a flight from Liberia.

A message on the ministry's official Twitter account said the medically equipped Airbus 310 landed at 8.15 (0615) GMT) Thursday at Torrejon air base, close to Madrid.

The priest, Miguel Pajares, will be treated at a hospital in the Spanish capital. His assistant in Liberia, Spanish national Juliana Bohi, was also brought back but she is not infected.

It's the first time that someone infected with Ebola will be treated in Spain.

Parajes was helping to treat people infected with Ebola and is one of three who tested positive at the San Jose de Monrovia Hospital in Liberia.
