Celia Keenan-Bolger to star in 'The Oldest Boy'

NEW YORK (AP) — Celia Keenan-Bolger will go from a Tennessee Williams classic to a brand-new work by Sarah Ruhl.

The Tony Award-nominated actress has signed on to star in Ruhl's play "The Oldest Boy," to be directed by Rebecca Taichman. It begins previews Oct. 9 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater at Lincoln Center.

Keenan-Bolger's Broadway credits include the shy Laura Wingfield in the revival of Williams' "The Glass Menagerie" and a fearless Molly in "Peter and the Starcatcher." She has also been in "Les Miserables" and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

In "The Oldest Boy," she will play the mother of a toddler who is believed to be the reincarnation of a high Buddhist teacher. His parents must decide whether he should begin training far away or stay home.
