Arkansas woman charged in son's death

DANVILLE, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas woman has been charged in her 10-month-old son's death after investigators say she and her husband took him into a rugged part of the Ouachita (WAH'-shih-taw) Mountains while having drug-induced hallucinations.

Twenty-one-year-old Brooke Sueann Floyd was charged Tuesday with manslaughter. She posted bail on a previous child endangerment charge and remains free. She's due in court Thursday.

Her son, Harper, and husband Brian were found dead last week after a four-day search in an area about 80 miles west of Little Rock. Yell County Sheriff Bill Gilkey says Harper died of "exposure and abandonment."

An affidavit says Floyd initially told investigators she and her husband were being chased, but later told a sheriff's captain the couple had fed off each other's hallucinations.

Her lawyer says she's not guilty.
