Obama practically weepy at Malia going to college

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is practically weepy at the thought of daughter Malia going off to college.

She won't be leaving the White House until the fall of 2016 but recent Obama comments suggest that day is on his mind now.

Obama recently told high school graduates in Worcester, Massachusetts, that he was their commencement speaker because he needed to practice for Malia's graduation in two years. Obama said he's trying to get used to not choking up, crying and embarrassing his daughter.

Sixteen-year-old Malia will be an 11th-grader this fall at the private Sidwell Friends School in Washington.

She's been seen touring the University of California at Berkeley and the Palo Alto, California, campus of Stanford University.

Stanford is where another president's daughter, Chelsea Clinton, attended college.
