AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Federal authorities say they have captured a northeast Ohio man accused of gunning down another man in the driveway of his home last week.
The U.S. Marshal's Office says a fugitive task force located 31-year-old Michael Herring at a residence in suburban Columbus and, after days of electronic and physical surveillance, arrested him without incident on Thursday morning.
Authorities say he'll face an aggravated murder charge in Akron. He was in jail Friday, but records didn't indicate if he had an attorney yet.
Herring is accused of fatally shooting 28-year-old Ronnie Travis in the driveway of Travis' Akron home on July 14.
Authorities say Herring was released from prison earlier this year after serving four years of a five year sentence for possessing a stolen weapon.
