Ohio fire that killed 2 children investigated

CADIZ, Ohio (AP) — Authorities continue to investigate an eastern Ohio house fire that killed two children and injured their mother and two firefighters.

The young boy and girl died of their injuries at Harrison Community Hospital after the Wednesday morning fire in Cadiz.

The Steubenville Herald-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1n0KTm1 ) the children's mother was taken to a Pittsburgh burn center and two firefighters were also treated for smoke inhalation.

Lorna Bower, Harrison County Emergency Management Agency, director, says some rescuers went into the house without gear because they knew victims were trapped.

The state fire marshal's office and the Harrison County Sheriff's Office were investigating with no cause of the blaze released yet.
