House GOP campaign arm raises $9.6 million in June

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Republicans' campaign committee says it raised $9.6 million last month and has more than $42 million in the bank.

The National Republican Congressional Committee released a summary Tuesday of its June finances. It has now raised more than $101 million to help defend Republicans' majority in the House.

The House Democrats' campaign arm is expected to release numbers in the coming days. As of the end of May, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had outraised its GOP counterpart in 15 of the past 17 months. Not counting its June fundraising totals, the DCCC has raised almost $114 million and has nearly $46 million in the bank.

Both campaign committees have been raising tens of millions of dollars to pay for ads, polling and research to help their candidates.
