PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kevin Kreider hasn't been skateboarding long, but that didn't stop him from attempting a cross-country trek.
Kreider is set to arrive in New York City next week, three months after leaving Santa Monica, California.
Kreider tells WHYY's Newswork.org (http://goo.gl/YZwftC) that he's doing the trip for his health. He says he was starting to go bald living in New York as a model and actor.
The Philadelphia-raised Kreider learned to skateboard just last year. He says he fell about 25 times during the trip.
He had a few battle scars when he landed Thursday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Kreider says he thought the trip would give him some perspective on life. But he says he mostly focused on the road to avoid cars.
Kreider expects to reach New York by mid-week.
