DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A national group has joined the search for a 4-year-old boy missing since March from southwestern Ohio.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/TMcFai) reports that Texas Equusesarch joined local volunteers in Dayton on Saturday to search the area around the Stillwater River for Zaden McKnight. Police believe the boy is dead. Volunteers say they want to bring his body back to his family.
McKnight and his mother, 25-year-old Nichelle McKnight, disappeared in March. Dayton police found the mother's body April 11 on an embankment in Harrison Township. She had two gunshot wounds to the head.
A Texas Equusearch search coordinator says about 40 volunteers worked most of the day without finding the boy. The group used transportation including canoes and kayaks and electronic equipment to help in the search.
