INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say seven people have been shot and injured in an Indianapolis neighborhood.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Lt. Christopher Bailey said in a news release that an officer heard multiple gunshots at 2:23 a.m. Saturday in Broad Ripple.
One man is in critical condition. Five other men and a woman were shot, but do not have life-threatening injuries.
Bailey says a motive for the shooting isn't known. Broad Ripple is a neighborhood about 8 miles north of downtown Indianapolis.
Bailey told WRTV-TV that "we're lucky more people weren't hurt."
He says police are interviewing victims and investigating the scene.
