Pine Bluffs residents hope to save rehab center

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Pine Bluffs residents are trying to save a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for women that also provides a place for their children to stay.

Administrators of Chrysalis House say it might have to close in September or October because it has a $230,000 deficit and state funding is dwindling.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported Friday (http://tinyurl.com/kc47fk4 ) some Pine Bluffs residents were initially worried about having the center in their small town east of Cheyenne, but many now support it.

Caryn Miller and some neighbors are working with legislators on a campaign to lobby the Legislature for emergency funding for Chrysalis House.

The in-patient center can serve eight women and their children. It is one of only a few centers in the state that can accommodate patients' children.
