Cleveland officer shoots man wielding knife

CLEVELAND (AP) — A Cleveland police officer shot a man who refused to drop a knife.

It happened Wednesday night after officers were called to a home on the city's east side about a domestic dispute.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/VqlkRD ) reports that as officers arrived, a man approached holding a butcher knife. He was ordered to drop it but refused, telling the officers "you'll have to kill me."

One of the officers shot the man three times. He was hospitalized, but his condition wasn't available. Police don't know if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

His name wasn't released.
