MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — More than 100 bikers are riding across North Dakota to raise funds for the Bismarck Cancer Center.
KXMB-TV (http://bit.ly/1nuefqM ) reports the bikers this weekend brought traffic on the strip in Mandan to a halt as the group gathered as part of one of its stops across the state.
The group's trip Saturday covered 150 miles. They stopped in New Salem, Washburn and Wilton.
The crowd then gathered for the 2nd Annual Harleywood Night bike run at the Mandan Roughrider bike club.
The station reports Mike Markwed started this event in honor of his wife who is a cancer survivor. Markwed said his wife has been cancer-free for 4.5 years.
The event last year raised more than $7,000, and organizers expect to double that amount this year.
