2 sentenced in Georgia pill mill operation

ATLANTA (AP) — Federal prosecutors say the owners of a pill mill have been sentenced to federal prison time.

Authorities said Thursday that 30-year-old Jason Cole Votrobek of Vero Beach, Florida and 34-year-old Roland Rafael Castellanos of Hollywood, Florida were each sentenced to 15 years in prison on drug and money laundering charges.

Prosecutors have said the two operated a pain clinic that served as a front for a pill mill operation. Officials have said a Cartersville woman worked as the office manager and a Macon, Georgia doctor served as the clinic's primary physician.

Prosecutors say the group distributed oxycodone pills and ordered the doctor to see as many patients and prescribe as much medication as possible.
