DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Police will report on their investigation into the shooting of a southwestern Ohio bus driver who said a book of Bible verses in his pocket helped stop two of the bullets.
Dayton's police chief says he will hold a news conference Wednesday on the outcome of the investigation. Police and the FBI have been probing the shooting as a possible hate crime
White bus driver Rickey Wagoner told police he was outside his bus Feb. 24 when three black men shot at him. He said two bullets hit the inch-thick book in his shirt pocket and one hit his leg. He said he was also stabbed in the arm.
Wagoner was released from the hospital and has been on paid leave during the investigation. No arrests have been reported.
