LAS VEGAS (AP) — More than 100 applicants have been given the go-ahead to grow and process medical marijuana in unincorporated Clark County areas outside Las Vegas.
The county commission on Tuesday approved 101 permits for cultivation and laboratory facilities from Laughlin to Las Vegas.
The seven-member commission rejected just five applications during a marathon seven-hour public hearing.
Five applicants got lab permits; 58 received cultivation permits; 38 got approval for production facilities.
Each still needs state approval.
The commission earlier this month approved 18 applications for medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated Clark County.
A state law passed last year allows up to 40 medicinal pot dispensaries in Clark County. Las Vegas is approving 12; Henderson, five; North Las Vegas, four; and Mesquite, one.
