FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Weight Watchers Group president and chief executive Florine Mark will recognize more than 200 Detroit-area residents who have lost at least 50 pounds and kept the weight off.
The company says honorees at Monday's Celebration of Success together have lost about 12,000 pounds.
Mark says obesity continues to grow globally, but there are "thousands of success stories right here in Metro Detroit."
The 15th annual event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. at the Farmington Hills Manor, 23666 Orchard Lake Road. The program starts at 6 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food for donation to Forgotten Harvest.
