W.Va. hospitals to offer radiation therapy

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Mon General Hospital and WVU Hospitals are working together to provide radiation therapy services to cancer patients.

Officials say the West Virginia Health Care Authority has approved the certificate of need for the new joint venture facility on Mon General's campus.

The newly formed corporation will jointly own, operate and provide care there with a new linear accelerator. It also will operate the Fairmont Regional Cancer Center.

Design and construction of the new $7 million facility will now move forward and is expected to be completed in 2015.
