2,000 show up for northeast Ohio racino job fair

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Around 2,000 people showed up to apply for 400 jobs at a new racino in northeast Ohio.

The crowds stood in line at a shopping center storefront to apply for full- and part-time jobs at the combination horse track and casino slated to open this fall in Austintown, near Youngtown.

The (Youngstown) Vindicator (http://bit.ly/1qmXvnb ) reports that positions are in food and beverage, video lottery terminals, finance and accounting, environmental services, surveillance, racing, count room and more. About two-thirds of the positions are full time with benefits.

The $125 million Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is one of seven racinos either already open or opening soon in Ohio.
